A Swedish Bucket List
I am due to leave for Stockholm in about a month or so, and in between my organizing, writing, and loose-ends tying I have been creating a list of top “must” experiences in my new home.
Watch the aurora borealis, explore more islands in the archipelago, take a cocktail at Berns, go shopping for vintage clothing, visit Lapland, take road trips to the countryside, travel to the west coast, learn Swedish, eat chocolate ice cream under the midnight sun, ice skate on a frozen lake, pick wild strawberries, stay at Stockholm’s Grand Hotel, kayak on the Stockholm archipelago in autumn, experience a St. Lucia Day, experience a Midsommar celebration, get lost exploring the city’s different neighborhoods, hunt for vintage bookstores, take a drink at the Ice Bar (cheesy but necessary), and watch the sunset from the swings at Gröna Lund.
Anything I should add here?
Vintage Sweden. In one of those nostalgic moods today…

Snygging. As in, Hej snygging! Hottie. Good looking. Hi hottie!
Appropriate, given that Stockholm’s men are apparently the world’s hottest.
Use this one sparingly with those you don’t know well. Or after both parties have had a drink. Or two.

I am also dreaming of a Swedish summer today.
I took this in Visby last August very early in the morning just as the light was flooding the room.
